Each product I create is designed to be functional, individual and beautiful. Throughout the process, all of the timber pieces are carefully selected for their grain, colour and shape before being cut and turned into a one-off-design for purchase from my Ahipara workshop.
Recently, my passion for creating furniture as a natural art piece aligned perfectly with the owners of Peekaboo, kaitaia, who has ideas of connecting the diner with the natural wood environment.
The client expressed a strong desire to use wood sourced only from local farms within the region of the far north for all the table tops, custom bar tops and rustic hard wearing outdoor furniture.

All my products are hand made in Ahipara, Northland, New Zealand – the birthplace of Swamp Kauri, a timber highly prized for its beauty, quality and durability.
Utilising Swamp Kauri, native to the beautiful Te Tai Tokerau region we are based, gives new life to trees that have been buried and preserved for up to 50,000 years with some being up to 2,000 years old when they fell. Not only is Kauri the oldest workable timber on the planet, it is also a valuable heirloom that can be passed down from generation to generation once crafted – preserving it’s beauty for even more years to come.
